Grand Traverse Metro Mandatory RIT Training 2009

Firefighters in Grand Traverse County rescued one of their own, over and over. Tonight Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department held their annual Rapid Intervention Training at Bertha Vos Elementary School in Acme. The department used the school's gym to help teach firefighters how to search for a fallen comrade.

They learned to follow the fallen firefighter's hoseline, then rope off each other to continue the search. Rapid Intervention Training is mandatory for all Grand Traverse Metro Firefighters to go through once a year.
